Where Are The Photos?

Last night, I deleted my photography portfolio.  I deleted all but a few of my photos from my computer.  I also canceled my Adobe Photography Plan.

I have been thinking about it for months.

In that time, I took my camera out once or twice.  I didn't miss it.  I had grown tired of shooting the same things over and over.  My photography required me to see new and different places and things.  My anxiety had limited that for a decade.  The pandemic crushed it.

Since I wasn't using my camera, I wasn't using the Adobe tools either.  I wasn't using them enough compared to the subscription plan.

I had kept those tools because they were professional tools.  I wanted to run in the same league as professional photographers.  I could have been good too.  I composed and processed better than a wine mom with a desk in the family room and a shingle on Squarespace.

I refused to work as a professional, though.  I have friends who have a studio and do portrait work for a living.  I wouldn't compete with them because my circumstances depend upon their livelihood.

So, if you came here looking for photos, you won't find any for now.  I know they will show up, but they won't be photos looking for an audience.  They'll be photos serving another purpose.
